Emmy Winning Stand Up Comedian Bill Cosby To Perform Two Shows At Morongo Casino Resort & Spa
Cabazon, California (January 5, 2009) – Multi-award winning Bill Cosby, easily one of the most memorable and influential comedians of our time, will perform two shows at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa Saturday, May 9.
Cosby has transcended through the decades as a comedian, actor, author, producer and activist. He achieved a first for African-Americans when he co-stared in I Spy as the first black star in an action television series. The first year of the series he was awarded with three consecutive Emmy awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and the show ran for three seasons.
The year 1984 brought about the premiere of The Cosby Show, easily his most successful project at the time. Based on his own family, Cosby was able to hav e complete creative control over the show and focused on bringing humor to serious issues that came along with parenting and family life. The show went on to become the highest ranking sitcom of all time with five straight seasons as the number one show in America.
Since the show, Cosby continues to strive for a better America for children and has received his doctorate in education. He has written books and delivered speeches on the importance of good parenting and maintaining a healthy home. Though sometimes controversial, he always gets his point across and is never apologetic for his strong beliefs. These days he continues to hold lectures for African-American communities about his frustrations with the way youths are being brought up in urban populations and ways to prevent them from falling into a harsher life.
